Dating back to the 1920s, the modern American Breakfast which features the all-important bacon cooked until crisp, has a long history across the pond. Like many other stateside food trends and traditions, this winning combination made it’s way to being just as popular in the UK. The bacon traditionally used is streaky bacon, not back bacon which is the more popular cut in the UK. In America they call this type of bacon “Canadian Bacon”! So it’s a different take on a breakfast, using a smaller number of ingredients to our traditional full English cooked breakfast.
