ALL about us

who are Pig's might fly?

For over half a century, our family has been dedicated to one craft alone, the production and supply of bacon and gammon of the highest standard and qualioty.
Based in West Yorkshire, we continue a tradition that began in 1971, when Peter Winpenny combined his knowledge of the meat industry with a vision to create a business built on quality and integrity.

His son Paul carried that legacy forward, joining the family business straight from school.
Today, alongside his wife Stephanie and their children, Paul upholds the same values of craftsmanship, consistency, and care that have defined us for generations.

By focusing solely on bacon and gammon, we ensure every product meets our exacting standards. Each cut is ethically sourced, traditionally cured, and delivered with the same attention to detail that has made us a trusted name for decades.

From the heart of Yorkshire to homes across the UK, our promise remains unchanged: to bring you bacon and gammon of unmatched quality, steeped in tradition and made with pride.

our ethical packaging

What will we send your order in? After rigorous testing of different options we chose polystyrene cool boxes and ice packs.

Did you know Polystyrene was recyclable?

Yes, Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) can be recycled and is recycled up and down the UK and around the world. It is one of the most efficient and cost effective insulating materials on the planet. Its low rate of thermal conductivity makes it super reliable for transporting temperature sensitive products.
We wanted a packaging solution that would ensure your bacon goodies reached you in tip top chilled out condition so when researching we tested various options. What we discovered was that polystyrene cool boxes kept your items in a consistently chilled condition for 48 hours and also had the added bonus of being reusable and recyclable at the same time.

Polystyrene HoCo (Hot Cold) Boxes are designed to be durable and last for years. However, if you feel they have come to the end of their life as a cool box, they don't need to end up in landfill.
EPS boxes are 100% recyclable (providing they are contaminant free) and they also have loads of alternative uses!

1. Planters for the garden. Our boxes are deep and perfect for planting veg such as carrots or potatoes! You could even grow your veg to accompany your gammon!

2. Break into big chunks and place in the bottom of window boxes, pots, tubs or hanging baskets, or under the compost. It helps with drainage, so plants don't become waterlogged. It also reduces the risk of roots freezing in winter - EPS is a great insulator!

3. As a lovely picnic hamper to keep your bacon sandwiches hot or cold (no judgment here!)

4. An impromptu hedgehog house. Pack it with a little hay to keep those hedgehogs toasty in the Winter! Or if you have cats they like to keep warm outside too (and it’s not easy getting knitted jumpers on them!)

5. Keep your valuables in when transporting them around or moving house. EPS in a great shock absorber!

6. As a garden cool box for your Prosecco or beer in the Summer (chin chin!)

7. Store your crafting stuff/paints in it, preventing spills all over your garage!

8. Make a fantastic dolls house for your kids.

We always include ice packs which you can reuse (just put it in the freezer) so if you have a nasty bump or even a headache you will always have a ready to use ice pack.
