Holiday Bacon

Indulging in the savoury delight of bacon during the holiday season has become a beloved tradition for many. Ingredients

1 lb. thick-cut bacon

6 tbsps. brown sugar

1 tsp. cayenne

1 tsp. black pepper

1 tsp. red pepper flakes

Method

STEP 1

Prepare the rub (the night before, if possible, just to save time.)

Take 3 tablespoons of brown sugar and add them to a bowl, sprinkle in the red pepper flakes, cayenne and black pepper. (if prepping night before, cover the bowl with cling film and leave on the side overnight)

STEP 2

Preheat Oven to 350F 190C 170 fan assisted

STEP 3

Line a baking tray with greaseproof paper or tin foil

STEP 4

Take your bowl of rub and cover each slice of bacon with the rub on both sides.

Then lay the covered bacon onto the lined tray. Once all the bacon has been rubbed, sprinkle the rest of the brown sugar on top of the bacon.

STEP 5

Bake for 20-30 minutes or until crisp.
